Here’s why you should talk with a Realtor if you’re planning to sell.
I wanted to tell you a story today. A previous client told me that she was looking to sell her house a while back. Recently, she reached out and said that someone she knew offered to buy the house privately. She was thinking about doing that and saving on the commission.
I wanted what was best for her, but she mentioned how much she was going to be getting for the house. I jumped onto my computer and looked up how much the home would be worth. Lo and behold, the house was worth $60,000 to $80,000 more than what her private buyer was offering.

This goes as a warning to people who are doing for-sale-by-owner or selling to someone they know. The market has so little inventory that it’s better to list your home with an agent and ensure you get top dollar. In my client’s case, she would’ve saved $12,000 on the commission but lost $50,000 to $60,000 off the sales price.
