3 Things to Consider When Hiring an Agent
June 7, 2018 | Kelly Fischer
Hiring a real estate agent is essential in our hot market, but what questions should you ask the agents that you interview?
The market is so hot, and we are very busy selling homes. This brings a good question to mind: Why is it a good idea to hire a real estate agent with experience?
Last week, I spent two days continuing my real estate education, which is required to keep our licenses in order. The majority of the class of nearly 50 had only been in the real estate business for less than five years; meanwhile, I have been in business
for nearly 25 years. There was only one person who had been in business longer.
This is why I think it is important when you are interviewing an agent about selling your property—most likely your largest asset—that you ask certain questions.

2. Can you have references? See if the agent will provide past clients’ contact information so you can call them and
find out about their experience. What did they like best? You need to know that the transaction will go smoothly and that the agent is professional.
3. The agent must have a really strong, proven marketing strategy. Since we are in a market with an inventory shortage
and a small percentage of homes selling each month, you need to have an agent who will help you get your home sold in a reasonable amount of time for top dollar.
These three capabilities are all essential when you hire an agent. My team has all of them and I would love to share them with you. If you are thinking about selling your home, I encourage you to call or email me at your convenience. I look forward
to speaking with you soon.
